About United Trades Youth

WHO ARE UNITED TRADES YOUTH ?

United Trades Youth (more commonly known as UTY or even TRADES) are a youth football club based in Northampton.

The club was created by Team Manager Pete Ayling in April 2000.

After a meeting with Dave Fagan it was agreed that the club would use United Trades Working Mens Club as a base for club functions. Thus the team name United Trades ....

The secretary, Julie Ayling, after a lot of hard work managed to secure a sponsorship with McDonalds. Julie has also managed to secure a second sponsorship term with McDonalds for 2002-2003 - well done Julie !

UTY play in the Northants 92 league against teams in and around Northampton.

The club is best summed up by this quote from Pete "UTY was set up to give boys who want to play football the chance to do so."

In their 1st year the club finished 11th out of 13 teams, winning 7 and drawing 2 out of 24 games - very creditable considering it was the first year.
Last year the club finished 3rd and made it to the semis of the Cup. All the details can be found on the Fixtures and Results 2001/2002 page.
